This book was everything I never knew I wanted. A little dark with an irresistible romance that keeps you hooked from the first page. This was such a short book, 200 pages or so, and I wanted more! The writing style was outstanding and I loved the story-line. A mix between realistic fiction and mystery that is also a young adult contemporary novel. I really loved the effortless feel of this book, how it is such a simple concept and it read as if you were watching a movie. I finished this book in a day because of the length but also because of the way it demanded to be read in one sitting. I will definitely pick up any other book(s) from this author because of this book. Wasn’t very original and was very predictable, but I don’t care! I felt like I could relate to (some) of these characters and understood where they were coming from. This book made me ‘aww’ and made my heart race at all the right times. As you know I give out brownie points for the appearance of a book (because who doesn’t love a great cover?) and unfortunately this book didn’t earn them. Don’t let the cover fool you, this book is a true gem!

I’m just going to skip right to the end because I KNEW it was Matt the whole time! I was so proud of myself that I actually guessed it right! He was just too suspicious and made it really obvious on their trip to get pie. And I knew that Noah was just a sweetheart and wouldn’t do something like that, because he had changed through jail the first time. I don’t think that Cadie and Noah should have blamed themselves for Matt’s death because he deserved it really. I’m just glad they didn’t end up in jail or with severe PTSD. And I’m extremely glad they reunited in the end, because Although I do think they deserved some ‘me time’, they are just better together.

This book reminded me a little of Kasie West’s P.S I like you and is one of the reasons I liked it. The main character can be a little annoying at times, and I had to put the book down once or twice from major second-hand embarrassment. Despite that, I really enjoyed this book. Goodreads Summary *NO SPOILERS* Here and Gone is an alluring tale of a mother’s struggle to reclaim her children from backwards cops while fighting off self-doubts and the public’s condemnation. Overall, I liked Here and Gone . This book is a nice change from my usual reading genres, but I had a few problems with some of the logic in this book. I’m new to reading mysteries/thrillers so I haven’t yet trained my brain to not point out all of the steps not taken to solve the murder/mystery. For example, why don’t people use lie detectors or drug tests to figure out if a suspect really is a suspect? Ignoring these things, I really enjoyed the author’s writing style even though this book took a while to pick up action wise. I was expecting something to blow up or some gun fights right off the bat, but I forgot you also have to tell a story. This being a new experience for me, I think I was expecting more than what the author could give me. I really liked most aspects

Fans of the iconic Princess Cinderella and sci-fi geeks alike will turn into romantics after reading this fun and semi-tragic love story. Although, if you aren’t a fan of fairy-tale spin-offs or damsels in distress, then this book isn’t for you. I had some major issues with this book, from the slow pacing to the characteristic flaws in Elle. I know this is a Cinderella retelling, but I had a hard time getting over the whole ‘helpless princess’ trope. I was okay with her unwillingness to stand up for herself in the beginning, hoping we would see a grand reveal of the fighter underneath. But I was disappointed when Elle continued to give up on herself and her beliefs.
