This book was really too short for my liking but then again I could read about Peter Pan forever. One thing that caught me off guard from the start was that this book is told from Tinkerbell’s point of view. Which is great because she is a very overlooked character in Peter Pan I feel like (Not including Disney’s fairy series about her). Goodreads Summary This book fell flat for me. The cover and synopsis interested me but when I actually got into it I was disappointed. I didn’t really have high expectations for this book, but I wanted to enjoy it, I really did. I tried too but I have some problems with the story. The first problem I had was the world building. I liked the idea of it, but it could have been written better. There are magical and non-magical beings that live in the same city, but the regular humans don’t know about the existence of magic. To me it seemed like these were two separate worlds because sometimes the characters wouldn’t even hide or hush their conversations about magic. Goodreads Summary I was so glad to get back into the grishaverse without really being immersed back into it. This book is a book of grishaverse tales, from Ravka to Kerch. They were each so, so good! I loved all of them and couldn’t help but imagine myself as a Fjerdan or Zemeni child growing up on these tales. The best part is that each of them is a fairy tale retelling but with the grisha world influence. You all know how much I love a retelling! And I got six of them in this book! Each of them had a unique spin with a life lesson to go along with it. Goodreads Summary *NO SPOILERS* I don’t know if I have ever told you this, but re-tellings of fairy-tales and classics are some of my favorite reads. What makes this book even better is that it is a Peter Pan re-telling! Although it is from Hook’s point of view, this book is still extremely intriguing. I always love tales from the supposed “villain” and this is a darker tale than the original. I really liked this book but if I were to change anything, it would be that we got to read more about Jamie with the pirates. This story focuses more on the relationship Jamie and Peter had as kids, and how Jamie came to hate Peter, and then eventually became Hook. I felt like there could have been a little more of the grown-up pirate and not the lost boy in Peter’s band of wildlings. Goodreads Summary *NO SPOILERS* Leigh Bardugo is an auto buy author for me, so I knew I would love this book right when it came out. Then I finally got around to reading it and it didn’t not disappoint! I loved all of the characters within the first few chapters. I also loved how it was set in the same Grishaverse as her other series that starts with Shadow and Bone . You don’t need to read her other series first, but it would help you understand the world better and get the references to other characters and places from those books. As a Booktube-a-thon pick, this book has been on the back-burner for quite some time now. And I am so mad at myself for not reading this book when I first got it! Because of the motivation Booktube-A-Thon has given me I read it and was glad I decided to add it to my agenda. I liked this book! It was cute and fun, with magic and mystery involved, although it was very heavy handed with the politics. This book has a lot of court politics and etiquette involved that put me off a little. I would have much rather seen more of the magical elements involved, and when they did pop up that storyline seemed to clash with the politics and romance. Goodreads Summary *NO SPOILERS* The Hunt is a fresh, new take on what it means to be a vampire, while also nodding back to the classic stereotypes. I liked this book it was a lot of fun to read, and I don’t think it over-did it too much on the cheesy vampire part. I know I am a sucker for a good villain, and this story didn’t really seem to have one despite it being a world full of monsters. Yes, there were a few characters that were bad throughout the story but none of them were the main bad guy.
