Do you have any pets?  I have a cat in real life, and I know if you have a furbaby you loves yours just as much as I love mine. But what about our literary pets? Don't they deserve some love too? That is why I am making a literary pet appreciation post! Feel free to add on to this list in the comments and show all of our pets some love. Firstly, I want to include Church the cat from the Mortal Instruments series and the Infernal Devices because where would any of us be without him?  Fang the dog from Harry Potter deserves to be mentioned also even if he is more of a scaredy cat. Hey guys! I just wanted to apologize for not sticking to my usual posting schedule. School has recently started back and I find I'm having trouble with posting so much within a week. So, I have decided, that during the school season I will post once a week on Mondays. I have a very busy schedule this year, but I promise I will post! Today I will share with you why I include a spoiler section to my reviews. Of course the reason for writing the non-spoiler part is a given, but why do I include spoilers? Well, I’m glad you asked! You see, most of my friends in real life don’t read, so I don’t have anyone to share my thoughts on a book with except you guys. When I get done reading a good book I just want to share with someone all of my theories and predictions about what I thought would happen and what can still happen. I like hearing how other people interpreted a book also, so I leave my spoilers so others can read them and either agree or disagree. And, if you picked up a book because of my non-spoiler review, then you can always come back and read the spoiler section when you get finished! We can compare notes and have a great time picking apart the book. If you enjoy the written word just as much as I do, then I know you want to share it with everyone! Today I thought I would explain why, in my reviews, I link the goodreads page of the book.  For those of you who know my setup you know I link the goodreads summary before I start my non-spoilers section of my review. I do this because of personal reasons, when I read a review on someone else’s blog, 9 times out of 10, I usually know about the book already. If I read a review, its usually because I want to know what someone thought of a potential read, therefore I have already read the synopsis. I know it’s ‘traditional’ to include a short summary at the beginning of a review, but I know I don’t like reading those when looking for reviews. I decided to take a shortcut and just include a link to a summary for those who don’t know anything about the book. And besides, Goodreads will probably do a better job of explaining the book anyway (and it’s most likely you will go to the goodreads page to learn more). Today I want to share with you some things that really irk my nerves when reading. Some things just get to me in a book, and here are some examples: Not having chapter numbers - I don’t really have a valid explanation as to why this gets to me, but it does. Sometimes I get motivation to finish a book by calculating how many chapters I have left based on how many chapters there are total. I CAN’T DO THAT WITHOUT CHAPTER NUMBERS!! Not naming the POV’s- If your book has multiple points of view… PLEASE LABEL THEM. I hate having to figure out whose chapters I’m reading. If you don’t make it insanely obvious, please assume I don’t know who is who, okay?   Dog-eared pages- This one is pretty self-explanitory. I like to keep my books very pristine and in tip-top shape, so don’t go around messing up the corners of my pages. Today I want to share with you all some things that make me completely lose interest in a book. Whether I’m in the middle of reading it or I’m just checking out the synopsis, these things are a sure sign of a DNF (Did not finish) book. The Well Thumbed Reader inspired this post! Click on the link to see her blog. Insta-love- I HATE books that the characters fall in “love at first sight.” I don’t believe in that, and will run away from the book and never think of it again. I want the characters to get to know each other first, because I think it makes their story more endearing than when they automatically become boyfriend and girlfriend. sport books- Honestly, I couldn’t care less about sports in reality, so why would I want to read about them? short time spans- I’ll probably contradict myself in this one, but I don’t like it when all the action happens in one day. Today I will tell you about some things in a book that make me want to immediately pick it up. Things that you could tell me to get me to buy it without even looking at the book, key words that make think, “Yep, that is my kind of book!” So, let’s get started! Fairytale Retelling - I’m a sucker for any fairytale, and when they are re-imagined? Even better! I love to read a new take on the story and see how well they integrated parts of the original by comparing the two works. Pirates/Sirens - Seriously guys, this is an amazing concept you can do so much with, that is really underappreciated. I love anything to do with these two groups!   I am participating in this year’s booktubeathon! Last year was the first time that I participated and I had so much fun! This year will be even better because I have an idea about what is going on and what I’m doing. So for those of you who don’t know what booktubeathon is it is a read-a-thon (Like a reading marathon) that lasts all week. So from July 24 th through July 30 th you try to read as many books as possible to cut down on your to be read pile. There are fun things throughout the week too, like giveaways and reading challenges and Twitter sprints. Most people like to have a drink and a snack with them when reading, the question is though, whether you prefer coffee or tea? Now as a southern white girl (I can just see the stereotypes piling up) I was raised on Starbucks and Sweet Tea. Although I tend to drink more coffee than tea, I still like both. One can argue that these two things don't really count as tea or coffee seeing as they are all sugared up and transformed from their original state. But honestly, when i'm reading I don't usually drink anything, and if I do it's water. The only time I make coffee or tea myself, is when I want to take a cool bookstagram picture, and then I end up dumping it out without drinking it. I have an owlcrate subscription so when they pack tea into their boxes I usually just keep them around for keepsake purposes. Sometimes I will get the courage to actually drink those teas, but I end up not liking them because they are too bitter or have no taste. Does anyone else share ...

That is how this idea came to life. As a resident of the great state of Florida, that is where I will start. I will then make my way across the country to hundreds of different Indie bookstores and maybe meet up with booktubers and instagramers while I’m en route. I want to save up some cash and then buy at least one book from the bookstores I visit and keep tabs on where I’ve been and what it was like. I’ve had my heart set on going on a road trip for some time now and this just makes it even better! I think this is a great way to discover new books while also travelling and seeing different parts of the country. [Credit to WallpaperSafari] Time travel in books can be pretty awesome, but it can also be totally confusing. For me, time travel is a hit or miss when reading a book. Sometimes you get a time travel book that is really good and easy to follow. Sometimes you get a time travel book that you can’t keep up with because there are a million rules to the multiverse. I usually try to stay away from time travel books because I have found them to be rarely good and interesting. Although I do enjoy watching “The Flash” on the CW, this plot has a lot of rules to it as well but maybe it’s just the different medium that makes it less confusing.  A time travel book I have enjoyed is All Our Yesterdays by Cristin Terrill. One title I didn’t like? The Time Machine by H.G. Wells. I felt that The Time Machine was much too confusing and I had a hard time reading it. Ah, the age-old question every book lover likes to argue over: “E-book or Physical copy?” I can’t tell you how many times I have seen different variations of this question among the social media sites but no matter how you phrase it, it’s still a huge debate. As for me I read only Physical copies of books. Why? you ask, because for one I’m a student. And where I’m from they don’t allow electronics inside the education area because it is a ‘distraction’ and could be potentially used to play games on instead of actually using it for the enjoyment of reading. I know I’m not the only one that has had to face this trouble and it is frustrating to know your elders think of you as some delinquent that doesn’t care about learning or their future in any way *sigh*. Anyway, there is that obstacle and plus I personally would love to have a library in my house one day.
