Goodreads Summary *NO SPOILERS* Leigh Bardugo is an auto buy author for me, so I knew I would love this book right when it came out. Then I finally got around to reading it and it didn’t not disappoint! I loved all of the characters within the first few chapters. I also loved how it was set in the same Grishaverse as her other series that starts with Shadow and Bone . You don’t need to read her other series first, but it would help you understand the world better and get the references to other characters and places from those books. It was so nice to see some of my babies cross over to this book every now and then. I really liked the idea of a heist for this book and I loved to see the characters play it out, because it just seemed to suit them. I haven’t read a book solely about a heist before in the YA category, so the concept was pretty new to me. I also really liked how unpredictable this book was, in the sense I was confused most of the time because I couldn’t f...
Do you have any pets? I have a cat in real life, and I know if you have a furbaby you loves yours just as much as I love mine. But what about our literary pets? Don't they deserve some love too? That is why I am making a literary pet appreciation post! Feel free to add on to this list in the comments and show all of our pets some love. Firstly, I want to include Church the cat from the Mortal Instruments series and the Infernal Devices because where would any of us be without him? Fang the dog from Harry Potter deserves to be mentioned also even if he is more of a scaredy cat. The horse Gifford from My Lady Jane is of worthy notice, if you have read the book then this nomination makes sense, if not then go read the book. 😆 And who can forget about Buttercup from the Hunger Games ? Well, obviously the author because he doesn't show up again until the end. I know this is a very short list but I can hardly think of any pets in books! This ...
Goodreads Summary *NO SPOILERS* Armada is such a fantastic combination of Sci-fi genius and geek pop culture with a little bit of the right kind of humor, you won’t want to put it down! Not only is it all of this but it’s action-packed too! This book is everything you ever wanted in a sci-fi book. I absolutely loved Armada! It took me a few chapters to warm up to it but after that it was nothing but instant love. One of the reasons I had for picking up this book was because I read his other work, Ready Player One, and couldn’t get enough. I didn’t have high expectations going into this book and was a little discouraged at the beginning, but when things started to pick up, all of my doubts flew out the door. Honestly, after just these two books, Ernest Cline is now one of my favorite authors and from now on will be an instant buy. I loved all of the videogame references and appreciated all of the time and research that went into connecting all of these real-life th...
