So, there are a few things you need to know about this book:

1)      Badass female characters

2)      Serious plot twists

5)      LIES. LIES. LIES. EVERYONE LIES!

Oh, and did I mention?

6)      Badass women

I slowly fell in love with this book not only because of the way the characters were written but because I got to put my detective skills to use. Each page introduced a new mystery and it was really fun to see if I could come up with what would happen. My brain didn’t stop working while reading this book! It is safe to say that this book surprised me in more ways than I would like to admit (I do pride myself on being able to predict endings). This book was very unpredictable and extremely original. I also like the subtle biblical reference to the tree of knowledge. I actually didn’t make that connection until they said something about it in the book, now it seems glaringly obvious. Although I felt that the character development was there, I didn’t necessarily connect with the characters. I didn’t feel individually bonded with any of the characters while reading, but I do feel like I connected with the point of view of women in the book as a whole. I felt that the author portrayed the situations of women in society very well. Since I didn’t form a connection with the characters the book didn’t move me or make me feel anything, other than excitement when the mystery was being resolved. Overall this book was really well written, and I enjoyed myself while reading it. I could feel myself getting sucked into the book and not being able to put it down! Making this book the first one on my list of Top 5 2018 in the sidebar. I wanted to save my evaluation of the cover for last because I think this aspect of the book was the main reason I decided to read it. It was really intriguing and mysterious in and of itself. I couldn’t help but to get it because I felt that based on the title and art I would really like it. And I did! Which is good because that means my intuition isn’t misleading 😉.

Coffee or Tea with books?

Most people like to have a drink and a snack with them when reading, the question is though, whether you prefer coffee or tea? Now as a southern white girl (I can just see the stereotypes piling up) I was raised on Starbucks and Sweet Tea. Although I tend to drink more coffee than tea, I still like both. One can argue that these two things don't really count as tea or coffee seeing as they are all sugared up and transformed from their original state. But honestly, when i'm reading I don't usually drink anything, and if I do it's water. The only time I make coffee or tea myself, is when I want to take a cool bookstagram picture, and then I end up dumping it out without drinking it. I have an owlcrate subscription so when they pack tea into their boxes I usually just keep them around for keepsake purposes. Sometimes I will get the courage to actually drink those teas, but I end up not liking them because they are too bitter or have no taste. Does anyone else share

Book Road Trip!

{Credit to Conceptdraw.com} For a long time now I have always wanted to go on a road trip, and then I thought to myself, “What better way to make it more useful than to add books?” Voila! That is how this idea came to life. As a resident of the great state of Florida, that is where I will start. I will then make my way across the country to hundreds of different Indie bookstores and maybe meet up with booktubers and instagramers while I’m en route. I want to save up some cash and then buy at least one book from the bookstores I visit and keep tabs on where I’ve been and what it was like. I’ve had my heart set on going on a road trip for some time now and this just makes it even better! I think this is a great way to discover new books while also travelling and seeing different parts of the country. I Can’t Make This Up by Kevin Hart

Goodreads Summary *NO SPOILERS* Kevin Hart knows how to write a book full of wisdom and humor. Not only can he crack jokes he can impart some strong advice. After finishing this book all I wanted to do was write a long message to Kevin explaining how much he has motivated me, and how his book managed to positively impact my day. His book is the first autobiography I have ever read, and he has made me want to read more from that genre. I don’t know what possessed me to pick it up, but I’m glad I did! Not only is it an inspiring story about the ups and downs in life, it has pictures to accompany it! I loved reading about his progression as a person. From working to become a comedian, to evolving in his relationships to become a better man. Kevin sets the bar high in his determination and work ethic, he reminds us that you have to be all in and have a network of supporters to call on for help. I like his approach to life, and I can only hope to accomplish a portion of
