BOOKS

I would be glad to review any book you wish to send me. My website is reviews of books I have read, so I don’t discriminate against any book genre. Having said that, I do NOT own an E-reader, so therefore cannot review any downloadable books. The social media platforms I will post my review to are as follows:

My reviews consist of a spoiler and non-spoiler section that include my thoughts on what I liked/disliked. I have 5 guidelines for my reviews:

~Originality- Have I read this before? Are the characters and concept/plot something new I haven’t read before?
~Predictability- Was the book predictable? Or did it keep me guessing on what was to come?
~Connection- Did I relate to the characters? Did I feel like I could put myself into their situation and sympathize with them?
~Emotions- Did the book make me feel something? Did I laugh or cry while reading?
~Appearance- Was the cover pleasing to the eye? (Your book will not be completely judged on the cover, but I do award bonus points for a pretty cover)

I will review your book on a deadline should you require it, but I would like to ask to give me at least one month to get it done. As I am still a student and grades take top priority. All books I receive to be reviewed will take priority depending on deadlines. All of my reviews are my honest thoughts and opinions on all aspects of the book.

I will do my best to include all of your social media platforms with the review but would greatly appreciate it if you would go ahead and include them for me in the email you send.

Goodreads Summary *NO SPOILERS* This book is so beautifully written and intriguing that I want more! This book reminded me a little of Kasie West’s P.S I like you and is one of the reasons I liked it. The main character can be a little annoying at times, and I had to put the book down once or twice from major second-hand embarrassment. Despite that, I really enjoyed this book. Yes, this book does have a love triangle in it, but it is one of those that you love to hate. This story was so cute and charming, I was smiling all the way through. Here and Gone by Haylen Beck

Goodreads Summary *NO SPOILERS* Here and Gone is an alluring tale of a mother’s struggle to reclaim her children from backwards cops while fighting off self-doubts and the public’s condemnation. Overall, I liked Here and Gone . This book is a nice change from my usual reading genres, but I had a few problems with some of the logic in this book. I’m new to reading mysteries/thrillers so I haven’t yet trained my brain to not point out all of the steps not taken to solve the murder/mystery. For example, why don’t people use lie detectors or drug tests to figure out if a suspect really is a suspect? Ignoring these things, I really enjoyed the author’s writing style even though this book took a while to pick up action wise. I was expecting something to blow up or some gun fights right off the bat, but I forgot you also have to tell a story. This being a new experience for me, I think I was expecting more than what the author could give me. I really liked most aspects

Goodreads Summary *NO SPOILERS* This story is a tale full of woe and cosplay. Fans of the iconic Princess Cinderella and sci-fi geeks alike will turn into romantics after reading this fun and semi-tragic love story. Although, if you aren’t a fan of fairy-tale spin-offs or damsels in distress, then this book isn’t for you. I had some major issues with this book, from the slow pacing to the characteristic flaws in Elle. I know this is a Cinderella retelling, but I had a hard time getting over the whole ‘helpless princess’ trope. I was okay with her unwillingness to stand up for herself in the beginning, hoping we would see a grand reveal of the fighter underneath. But I was disappointed when Elle continued to give up on herself and her beliefs. Maybe it is just the feminist in me or the fact that I’m surrounded (and constantly inspired) by strong women, but it frustrated me when Elle wouldn’t stand up for herself.
